We use extension poles with gutter spoons to pull debris toward us, then hand-scoop everything out. Once the bulk is gone, we run water through the system and use sponges to get the fine sediment. Every downspout gets tested — if it's clogged, we either snake it or unscrew the elbow, clear it, and reattach.
In the Pacific Northwest, gutters fill fast. Fir needles, maple seeds, moss fragments — it all ends up in your gutters. If they overflow, water backs up under your roofline or floods your foundation. Most customers across King County schedule gutter cleaning twice a year: once in late fall after the leaves drop, once in spring after the seed drop. If you've got heavy tree cover — especially firs, cedars, or maples — you might need it three times a year.
“If gutters overflow, water backs up under your roofline or floods your foundation — most customers schedule twice a year to stay ahead of it.”
We keep your yard clean while we work. Debris goes into your yard waste bin or we haul it offsite — your call. If you've got gutter guards installed, we still clean them. Most guards reduce maintenance frequency but they don't eliminate it. The fine debris still gets through and clogs the downspouts. We see this regularly — homeowners think the guards solved the problem, then the downspouts back up and overflow during a heavy rain.
Properties with heavy tree cover or complex rooflines take longer — expect 2-3 hours. Standard single-family homes usually run 1-2 hours. We can handle three-story buildings and commercial properties; anything taller requires specialized equipment. We also check the exterior vent cap while we're up there. If it's clogged or the flapper is stuck, it traps moisture and debris inside the gutter. We clear it and make sure it opens and closes properly.
For recurring customers, we track your property details — gutter footage, downspout count, problem areas — so every visit is consistent. Same process every time. If we notice something during service — damaged gutter, loose downspout, sagging section — we'll flag it and let you know.
